Dr. John Beeching, Lecturer of the Department of Biology & Biochemistry, University of Bath, UK, visited SCCB during May 3-8, 2009. John has a long-term interest in post-harvest physiological deterioration (PPD) of cassava and is a leading scientist in the research area. Currently SCCB has established collaboration with his group by production of transgenic cassava in the BioCassava Plus Project. He gave a seminar under the title of “Post-harvest deterioration in cassava: From understanding towards control” at the Seminar Hall of SIPPE in the Morning of May 4. Then, he discussed with members working on the PPD in cassava and visited the greenhouse.
