As requested from the Science and Education Division of Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), the representative members from the Potato, Sweetpotato and Cassava Systems of Chinese Agriculture Research Systems (CARS) held a mutual examination workshop in Guyuan, Hebei province, in July 18, 2014. The Principle Investigator (PI) Kaimian Li，accompanied by Directors of three functional laboratories and management team of Chinese Cassava Agri-technology Research System(CCARS) was invited to attend the round-table discussion. Prof. Liping Jin, the PI of Potato System, chaired the meeting and conveyed the requirements from MOA. She hoped that, by the mutual examination among the three systems, the planned accomplishments and major progress of the tasks in the 12th Five Year Plan can be on track. The get-together can also strengthen the system construction by consolidating further understanding and fostering interactions among different systems. Profs. Kaimian Li, Peng Zhang, Bi Gu and Jun Li as well as several management members of CCARS reported the research status and progress on cassava cultivation, breeding, processing and management in the last several years. The workshop helps collect the major achievements and technologies in the systems and also facilitate to solve some common problems.
