Hosted by PI office of Chinese Cassava Agriculture Research System (CCARS), the Comprehensive Processing Laboratory (CPL) organized the "2015 Workshop on Cassava Processing Technology of CCARS" in Danzhou, Hainan. Based on the CPL progress, in conjunction with the needs of industries and the strategic objectives in "Thirteen-Five Plan" for globalization and staple-food industrialization, system experts and business representatives presented their reports related to cassava food processing and safety, market trends and “going global strategy”. The workshop made useful discussion on problems and development model related to promoting cassava staple-food industrialization in China. During the workshop, participants enjoyed the tasting of various foods made by cassava and the visit of cassava leaf utilization and demonstration on feeding silkworm and livestock.

Taking the chance, Peng, together with Zhanqi Yuan and Zhaogui Li, visited Prof. Wenquan Wang’s experimental station of traditional breeding in Chengmai. After the workshop, Peng also gave a lecture at the Tropical Crops Varieties and Resource Institute.
