China technology market Association held the 2^nd Award Ceremony of "Three Agricultural Systems S&T Golden Bridge Award" from Nov. 27-28, 2015, in Chengdu, Sichuan province. The project "Technology integration on breeding of novel sweet potato variety and demonstration" submitted by SIBS won the outstanding project award.

In recent years, SCCB established intensive collaboration with local research partners and bred several elite new-released varieties of sweet potato. Using genetic engineering, they also generated novel sweetpotato germplasm with modified starch quality. The team has already published a number of articles and applied related patents. Therefore, the project "Technology integration on breeding of novel sweet potato variety and demonstration" reflects the advantage of collaboration between CAS and local agricultural research institute through diversified activities, such as jointly establishment of molecular breeding and demonstration station of new sweet potato variety. Eventually, core intellectual property was formed by new germplasm approval, patents and research publications, hence, promoting agricultural development.

The Three Agricultural Systems S&T Golden Bridge Award is a national award to acknowledge which has made excellent contribution of collectives, personals, and excellent programs in Chinese agricultural systems.
