Prof. Kaimian Li, Principal Investigator of Chinese Cassava Research System (CCARS), accompanied by several delegates from the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS) visited SCCB on November 24, 2019. Center members together with representatives from Office of Research Management and Finance Office attended the meeting. Prof. Peng Zhang gave an introductory speech and presented the history and achievements of CAS Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences over the past ten years. Prof. Li highlighted the development and direction of research to grasp the new situation of "small crops, big industries" in the context of cassava system. They fully agreed to combine the technical advantages of SCCB with the germplasm resources of CATAS, and also strengthen the personnel exchange and cooperation in the future. The financial experts conducted the audit of funds and gave a high affirmative evaluation on the use and management of CCARS funds.

After the meeting, Prof. Kaimian Li and his group visited the laboratory and greenhouse. This visit intensifies the exchange and cooperation among the members of the CCARS and promotes the CCARS development.
