Yangmei Nie, from Prof. Wenwu Guo’s lab, the National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement, Huazhong Agriculture University (HAU), was trained for cassava tissue culture at SCCB from March 29 to April 6, 2010. Under the guidance by Ms Qiuxiang Ma, he mainly carried out the induction of somatic embryogenesis from several cassava genotypes in order to conduct protoplast isolation and fusion experiment. The visit not only promotes the project performance of the Cassava “973 Program” but also strengthens the bilateral collaboration between SCCB and HAU.
