Peng-Jen Chen, graduate student of Prof. Kai-Wen Yeh from the Institute of Plant Sciences, National Taiwan University, visited SCCB and trained for sweetpotato genetic transformation technology on October 28 to November 06, 2009. Under the supervision by center technician Min Zhang, Peng-Jen carried out the protocol of sweetpotato transformation, including induction of somatic embryos and their subculturing, establishment of suspension culture and Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation. The visit strengthened the bilateral collaboration between SCCB and Prof. Yeh laboratory.
