On October 10, 2012, Dr. Yingzhi Chen from the State Key Laboratory for Conservation and Utilization of Subtropical Agro-bioresources (SKLCUSA) at the Guangxi University joined our center for one-year training under the support of the "Western light" Visiting Scholar Program. Supervised by assistants Mrs. Qiuxiang Ma and Mr. Duoqing Lin, Dr. Chen will learn the essential techniques of cassava tissue culture and genetic transformation, including somatic embrygenesis, embryogenic suspension culturing and Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation. This training builds the bridge for strengthening bilateral cooperation and academic exchange between two laboratories.
