Dr. Didik Pudji Restanto, a researcher from Agriculture Faculty and Centre Development Advance Sciences and Technology (CDAST), University of Jember, East Java Indonesia, studied in our center for cassava biotechnology from December 13, 2017 to March 8, 2018.  His visit was supported by the scholarship from Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Indonesia Government for Non Degree Training (NDT).

During his stay in SCCB, he learned how to induce and maintain somatic embryos and friable embryogenic callus. He also practiced on Agrobacterium-mediated cassava transformation, which provides techniques for cassava genetic transformation of elite cassava cultivars from Indonesia. The visit intensifies the bilateral exchanges and collaboration between CAS and Jember University, promoting international S&T construction under frame of the belt and Road Initiative.
