Prof. Peng Zhang from SCCB and Dr. Changhu Wang from South China Botanical Garden attended the Meeting for the Initiation of the Doubled Haploids Project at CIAT, Colombia, from Aug. 16-21, 2010. The project, supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) with 3-year term, is collaborated by partners from Colombia (CIAT and ICESI), Africa (NaCRRI) and China (CAS). On the meeting, project managers from BMGF, colleagues from UC Davis and project consultants also participated. SCCB will mainly conduct microspore culturing of several elite cassava genotypes for doubled-haploid production.
