Prof. Dr. Motoaki Seki, team leader of Plant Genomic Network Research Team, RIKEN, Japan, together with Dr. Yoshinori Utsumi, visited SCCB during Jan 4 to 8, 2012. Prof. Seki gave a seminar under the title of “Towards food security and biomass engineering in Asia and Africa by development and application of advanced molecular breeding technologies for the tropical crop, cassava” at the Seminar Hall of SIPPE in the morning of Jan 5. Then, they intensively discussed with Prof. Peng Zhang and Mrs. Jia Liu on the genetic transformation system of KU50 and visited the greenhouse. The visit promotes the bilateral collaboration on cassava genetic transformation and functional genomics.
