Elite edible sweetpotato variety "Taizhong 6", jointly bred by Taian Academy of Agricultural Sciences and SCCB, was examined and approved by Crop Variety Authorization Committee of Shandong Province (No: Lunongshen 2012034). Taizhong 6 was bred from the progenies of Lushu 8 through open pollination.

"Thaizhong 6" is an elite edible variety that has good taste, high sweetness, high carotenoids and less fiber. It won the Third Place of the Food Category Group in the "Willow Catkin Cup" National Race for High Yield of Sweetpotato. The cultivar, having a yield record of 3375.9 kg/Mu, was listed as the second place among the 22 tested varieties. The evaluation committee made good remarks on the cultivar. t participated in the national sweetpotato regional test in the North during 2010-2011 and production evaluation in 2012.
