The annual meeting of Chinese Cassava Agro-industrial Research System (CCARS) was held at Xiamen Vienna hotel, Fujian province from January 7 to 9, 2013. More than 100 team members, including scientists of different research laboratories and agents of different research stations, participated in the event. The leaders from Ministry of Agriculture and local government as well as industrial delegates were also invited.

On the meeting, the scientists of different research laboratories and agents of different research stations reported their annual progress and were evaluated by the team on their performances. Prof. Peng Zhang from SCCB presented the progress of biotechnology and molecular breeding of cassava. He also chaired the discussion of preparing strategic report of cassava technology and industrialization in China. The intensive discussion during the meeting helps not only solve various problems arising in the system, but also make a better performance next year.

After the meeting, the organizer had invited the participants to visit the Xiamen Juxiang Starch Company. Dr. Jun Yang, Hongxia Wang and Qiuxiang Ma from SCCB also attended the event.
