The annual progress workshop of the 973 Program “Basic Research for Genetic Improvement of Cassava” was successfully held at Baohua Hotel, Haikou, from January 20 to 22, 2013. Nearly 100 team members, including project leaders and research stuffs of different laboratories, participated in the meeting. The leaders from Ministry of Science and Technology and members of Committee of Experts (CoE) were also invited.

The delegates of five projects reported their annual progress. After the conclusion made by the Principle Investigator, the CoE members gave their positive feedbacks of the program progress, took insight into problems of each project, and gave possible solutions to united all the projects and make breakthroughs during the funding period.

The meeting was the first get-together after the midterm review of the program. The intensive discussion and exchange of ideas during the meeting will benefit to solve problems and make smooth progress in the program.
