The 7^th International Crop Science Congress (7^th ICSC) was held in Beijing on August 15 to 19, 2016. Prof. Peng Zhang, together with Qiuxiang Ma and Shutao He, attended the congress and gave oral presentations on sweet potato iron acquisition and cassava starch metabolism, respectively. The congress is to facilitate the process of crop development by the theme “Crop Science-Creativity and sustainability development” covering various sessions. The congress facilitatesour communication with international researchers and cooperation by demonstrating our new achievements in the field of root crops.

During the congress, Prof. Peng Zhang was also invited to visit the CIP-China Center for Asia and the Pacific (CCCAP) and discussed with the center scientists.
