Organized by the China Sweet Potato Agro-technology System and the Sweet Potato branch of the Crop Science Society of China, the book "China Sweet Potato", edited by Ma daifu, Liu Qingchang, Zhang Liming etc., was officially published by Jiangsu Phoenix Science and Technology Press in March this year. The book draws on the theory and practical experience of sweet potato research and industrial development both domestic and abroad, each chapter has selected an authoritative expert in the corresponding field to organize and write. The book comprehensively combed the practice of China's sweet potato scientific research achievements and industrial development, and set scientific, systematic, forward-looking in one, which can be used as a reference book not only for sweet potato researchers, agricultural colleges and students, agricultural technology extension personnel and related enterprises and new business entities, but also for the relevant national decision-making.

SCCB team was invited to "Chapter VII, The Physiological Foundation of Sweet Potato" in the Scientific Base Section. A systematic review is made including the characteristics of the formation of sweet potato "Source-Sink-Flow", the physiological basis of yield formation, and the formation characteristics of the main quality traits and their physico-chemical basis. At the same time, our team's achievements in sweet potato genome sequencing and assembly, starch quality improvement by genome editing, storage root development and other aspects draw more attention and are frequently cited, showing our team's contribution and capacity in leading the domestic sweet potato molecular breeding.
