To smoothly implement the task of CARS in 2023, Prof. Zhang Peng, Scientist of Breeding Technology and Methodology of CARS, together with the team members carried out docking activities with the teams of Prof. Lu Baiyi (Scientist of the Quality Safety and Nutrition Quality Evaluation), Prof. Chen Qing (Scientist of the Pest Control) and Prof. Liu Guanghua (Baoshan Comprehensive Experimental Station). In Zhejiang University, several issues related to the safety and nutritional quality of cassava, especially the production and degradation of cyanogenic glycosides, were discussed. The need for the development of new on-site rapid detection methods for cyanoglycosides and starch content in cassava was suggested. The CARS training meeting to be held in Nantong this year was planned. In Shanghai, the joint work and achievements between Shanghai and Boshan were exchanged, and in-depth exchanges and discussions were conducted on genetically modified cassava breeding and joint promotion of cassava internationalization, which further clarified the direction for follow-up cooperation. During the exchanges, the research conditions and facilities of the relevant teams were visited.
